Srinagar: Chairman of Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) Shabir Ahmad Shah today asked people to distribute the Qurbani at local level and also utilise the money received from animal skin among the needy people.
In a statement issued to PTK, Shah said this all should be done by the local Masjid and Baitul-Maal committees, adding, “We should prioritise those families whose kith and kin achieved martyrdom or were injured during the ongoing movement.”
Appealing people to observe Eid with extreme austerity and simplicity, Shah said: “We are passing through a very crucial phase and on this Eid we should not forget those in need. We are celebrating this festival with heavy heart as our 80 youth were snatched from us and thousands subjected to injuries and disabilities. We are in a mournful state. In reality, there is no Eid in slavery; our real Eid will be when we achieve freedom from Indian slavery, In Sha Allah,” he said.
Shah also expressed deep grief over the killing of a 22-year-old youth Naseer Ahmad of Seer Hamdan by occupational forces and injuring of more than 100. A Freedom Party delegation led by Zahoor Ahmad Sheikh participated in the Nimaz-e-Janaza of the martyr.
Condemning such arbitrary arrests, the spokesperson said the government is living in a fool’s paradise that by carrying out such arrests the people will give up struggling for freedom. (PTK)
