Srinagar: Kashmir Daily – Story of a journalist – is all set to get released in July this year, Producer and Director of the movie, Hussein Khan said in a presser here.

“The film is based on a key social issue of Kashmir and reflects the story of a local journalist and his hard chase of investigative reporting. All the artists, crew members and technicians in the film hail from the J&K state and the film too was shot at the locations of Valley,” Khan said.

The film has been approved by Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) under “U” Certification.

Pining hope that this film shall prove a morale booster to Kashmir Film Industry and a milestone to establish a fresh film industry in the state in the coming years, Khan said, the feature film was produced under very difficult conditions for last three years. We have utilized local resources to complete this film without any financial support from any quarter.

“Kashmir Film Industry at present is struggling to survive mainly due to the non-availability of support from Government and other private financers. In a state like Bihar and UP, Government is providing a huge amount of subsidy for local films produced. Kashmir being a famous tourist destination in the world should have such subsidies from government for the local film makers to see the local designations being promoted in cinemas in the country and outside,” Khan added.

“Our Production House has not been aspiring for financial support for the completion of this feature film. We only need encouragement in terms of facilitation and logistic support from the Government. We appeal private corporates of the state, art institutions, individual financers to extend their support to local film makers in future and help the virgin film industry of the state to grow. The industry will also help create job avenues for scores of young and other aspiring artists who have been running from pillar to post to chase their dreams in the state and outside.”
