Srinagar: Hurriyat Conference led by Syed Ali Geelani today tendered an unconditional apology to Hurriyat (M) Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and JKLF chief Yasin Malik over its statement issued to the press on Wednesday about the “Kashmir Day” and Youm-e-Qudus”.
In a statement issued here, Hurriyat Spokesperson Ayaz Akbar while seeking an apology said the statement about “Kashmir day” and “Youm-e-Qudus on July 1” was actually the joint statement of the pro-freedom leadership, but due to his mistake he had only mentioned the name of Geelani. “I am personally responsible for this mistake and I seek apology for it,” Ayaz said.
According to the statement, all the three leaders Geelani, Mirwaiz and Malik have jointly appealed people to hold special prayers for the martyrs of freedom movement on Kashmir day. (PTK)
