‘Authorities failed to provide suitable accommodation’

Madina

Srinagar: Hajis of Kashmir Saturday complained of inadequate facilities provided to them by authorities in Saudi Arabia.

The Hajis who left from Srinagar to perform Hajj- 2016 told KNS over phone that they were provided low quality accommodations.

Abdul Hameed Dar, a pilgrim under cover number 8507-4 said that the authorities have failed to provide suitable accommodation.

He alleged that rooms provided to them are overcrowded.

“Six persons have been allocated a room which otherwise have capacity of three persons,” he said.

He added that every pilgrim is suffering similar hardships.

“We have brought the matter into the notice of concern authorities here. However, our pleas have fallen on deaf ears,” he said.

He said that some of the Haj committee officials assured that their grievances will be redressed at earliest but unfortunately nothing has been done in this regard so far. Thus, simultaneously the hardships faced by them continued.

“We have paid Rs 33000 extra for the better facilities. All that money has gone waste,” he said. (KNS)
