KCCI to protest against ‘Online Travel Portals’

Srinagar: The Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industries (KCCI) Friday said that it will stage a protest against ‘unethical & illegal practice’ by these Online Travel Portals.

“Online Travel Portals (OTP’s) have largely marginalized the business of Tour Operators including that of Kashmir by offering Discounts/Coupons/Vouchers to customers who book Kashmir Packages, particularly Hotel bookings online. “In view of this unethical practice by various OTP’s, a Nation Wide Protest has been declared by the Tourism Industry of India to be organised on 25th June with a major show of support at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi and at various State Capitals / Tourist Destinations,” the statement added.

“The Members of Kashmir Tourism Industry under the auspices of The Kashmir Chamber of Commerce & industry have decided to support the initiative of peaceful protest to take place at Pratap Park at 11:30 am for 1 hour upto 12:30 pm.
