Srinagar:A 13-year-old boy, who was injured during anti-India demonstrations in Kashmir’s Old City on Friday, passed away at the crack of the dawn in a Srinagar hospital, medical sources told Kashmir Dispatch on Saturday.
Junaid Ahmad Bhat from old city’s Saidpora locality was wounded as Indian armed forces used pellets and teargas on pro freedom demonstrators and was shifted to SK Institute of Medical Sciences in Soura in Srinagar, where he passed away.
The boy’s father, Ghulam Muhammad Bhat, confirmed his death. Hospital sources told Kashmir Dispatch that the boy had “two life threatening wounds from a firearm in his head and chest and chances of his survival were bleak”.
Bhat was critically injured after forces fired pellets on him at Saidapora in Eidgah during protests, sources on Friday had told Kashmir Dispatch.
