Weapon snatching case: Burhan’s associate produced before court

Srinagar: Police Friday produced a top Hizb militant before court in connection with weapon snatching incident. Tariq Ahmed Pandit, a resident of Karimabad Pulwama who allegedly surrendered before the government forces last month was shifted from Pulwama to Kothibagh Police station where according to a police official an FIR with regard to weapon snatching case stands registered.

Tariq Ahmed according to FIR was driving the vehicle when one of this associate Naseer Ahmed Pandit stole three rifles from the quarters of the then R&B Minister Syed Altaf Bukhari at Sheikhbagh Srinagar. Pertinently, cop turned militant Naseer Ahmed Pandit also a resident of Karimabad was killed in an encounter in South Kashmir’s Shopian district.

Confirming that Pandit was produced before the court, a police official said that he was remanded to police custody for six days. (CNS)
