Srinagar: Acting over a tip off about the presence of militants in Fategarh village of district Baramullah on Saturday, security forces witnessed a stiff resistance from public leaving around 30 civilians injured.

Locals said 46 Rashtriya Rifles and police barged into Fategarh and asked people that they want to search some houses in Kralpora Mohalla.

“We denied them entry leading to clashes. The forces were carrying two men tied and blindfolded in their vehicles. They would have killed them and passed them as militants,” locals said. “Each residential house was damaged,” he added.

SSP Baramullah, Imtiyaz Ahmad informed that militants escaped after police acted on a tip-off about the presence of militants. However, SSP Baramullah refuted the number of injured and claimed the injured toll only two. (KNS)
