Aharbal School goes up In flames

Srinagar: One more school building has gutted in mysterious fire in Watoo Aharbal area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district. An official from Planning Section of Education told news agency CNS that more than 14 school buildings have gutted so for during the three months turmoil in Valley. He however said that they have yet to collect the data vis-à-vis destruction of school buildings in fire.

Since July 9, dozens of school buildings both private and government sponsored have gutted in fire. Some gutted in mysterious fire while some were destroyed in government forces action.

Some of the school buildings that turned into ashes included Government Girls Middle School Watoo Aharbal, Government Higher Scondary School Sumbal, Noor-ul-Huda Educational Institute Sumbal, Government Middle school Thuru in Lar Ganderbal, Government High School in Chatwatan Shopian and a heritage school building of Islamia Hanfia Educational Institute at Lal Chowk Anantnag.
