Pulwama: An alert was sounded at Indian Air Force Field in Koil hamlet of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Wednesday night when the radar system reportedly developed a snag and stopped functioning.

Civilians working in the Air Field informed news agency CNS that the Radar System abruptly stopped functioning on Wednesday night creating panic among the soldiers and the employees. They said that an alert was sounded and soldiers as well as employees were asked to take positions in underground barracks.

“There was a total chaos in the Air Field. The soldiers went into the underground bunkers while the civilian employees also moved to safer places,” said a local.

Srinagar based Defense spokesperson Colonel Rajesh Kalia said he has no information about the matter. “Let me check it, I will let you know,” he said. (CNS)
