Er Rasheed

Srinagar: Despite strict restrictions hundreds joined a procession led by AIP Supremo Er Rasheed in Handwara today against killing of Musaib Majeed by CRPF at Wadora and atrocities of security forces all over district Kupwara.

Protesters were chanting slogans seeking plebiscite and against the killing of Musaib and high handedness of security forces in Langate, Kralgund, Supernaghama, Trehgam, Kralpora, Lolab and other parts of Kupwara.

The procession passed through main market of Handwara and people in large numbers joint the procession. However a heavy contingent of security forces stopped the march when the procession started moving towards district headquarter Kupwara. Police foiled the march using force and arrested Er Rashid, AIP said in a statement.

Addressing the gathering before his arrest Er Rashid appealed masses not to feel let down and continue with their peace full resistance.

He said, “Security forces have been given a free hand to do whatsoever they want in entire district Kupwara and there is nobody to make them accountable from Chokibal to Langate. It seems as if there is truly jungle Raj in entire district. Not only that security forces are using pelts, burning motorcycles and arresting youth but a company commander Namely Major Ankit of 22RR has emerged as successor of Kuka parry in north Kashmir, as the said company commander does not allow any body to pass through his camp and is giving his own calendars.”

Earlier in the day Er Rashid held a sit-in at Seloo against high handedness of said Army major who has been forcibly halted hundreds of vehicles daily. (PTK)
