Education Deptt orders self-attestation of documents for school admissions

Self Attestation

Jammu: As per an order issued by School Education Department, all educational institutions in the State shall henceforth accept self-attested copies of documents/testimonials from the applicants and/or guardians at the time of submission of applications for admission.

As per the order the existing system of seeking attestation of the documents by Gazetted Officers, is being done away with and, instead, the procedure of self attestation of these documents by the person himself/herself will be followed.

The order further reveals that original documents shall be called from the finally-admitted students only to carry out verification of the documents submitted by the candidates, with the application.
