Srinagar: While condemning the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi’s silence over the “atrocities on Kashmiris”, the communist party leader; Brinda Karat on Monday said that the Government of India (GoI) and state government has utterly failed to understand the deep injuries to the minds of Kashmirs.
Karat told KNS that “Where is justice, is the question which is in the mind of every citizen.”
She said that the GoI and state government should punish the responsible persons who killed and injured people of Kashmir. “There is no accountability and punishment against those who killed and injured people in Kashmir. The major step which government at this point of time should take is to punish the responsible persons,” she said.
Taking a dig on the force personnel who say that there is no option instead of using pellet guns on the protesters, Karat said that the statement made by the official is most condemnable. “Excessive use of force and deliberate use of weapon on protesters is definitely a crime,” she said.
The Communist leader said that she believes that the silence maintained by the Prime Minister against the atrocities on the youth of Kashmir is shame and condemnable as well.
Meanwhile, Karat visited AIIMS to enquire the health condition of Insha, an injured Kashmiri girl who is currently being treated in Delhi.
“The case of Insha is symbolic of the barbaric atrocities on the youth and children of Kashmir. I met Insha, she has to undergo two surgeries but both her eyes are expensively damaged. It is unlikely that she will regain her eyesight,” Karat told KNS.
She said that she talked to Director of the institute who assured her that the reports of Insha will be sent to the International specialists for further opinion.
Karat said that when she talked to Insha’s father, he questioned that ‘where is the justice to my daughter’.
She said that they have submitted the notice to raise the Kashmir issue in the parliament. “I hope that the issue will be taken up in the parliament,” she said. (KNS)
