JK a trilateral dispute, a global issue: Former Minister

Srinagar: Former Minister Babu Singh has declared that Jammu & Kashmir is a tri-lateral dispute and a global issue which can be resolved only through a tripartite dialogue. He challenged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to withdraw UNMOGIP (United Nations Military Observers Group of India & Pakistan) established in Srinagar in 1947 to prove his contention that Jammu & Kashmir is an internal affair of India.

Talking to KNS the former Minister said India alone can’t resolve the issue within the framework of India constitution as this has been experienced many a time since 1947.

Asking the Government to lift restrictions on senior separatist leaders including the likes of Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Mirwaiz Molvi Umar Farooq, Shabir Ahmad Shah and Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Saleem Geelani and release detunes including JKLF Chairman Yaseen Malik Babu Singh said “ I have told governor that Mehbooba led coalition government has lost credibility and the right to govern. I told the governor N.N.Vohra to advise the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to quit and ask the central leadership to stop continuing killing spree in Kashmir and immediately start a dialogue with both Pakistan and people of Jammu & Kashmir including separatist leaders”. He said “the situation in Kashmir if allowed to continue will explode and the waves of death and destruction will engulf the entire South Asia”.

Extending sympathies with the bereaved families of all those killed in the current unrest in Kashmir Babu Singh said use of force won’t take the government to anywhere nearer to restoration of peace and normalcy in Jammu & Kashmir state. Babu Singh was Minister of State in the Mufti led PDP Congress coalition government and Azad led Congress-PDP coalition government. He had won the 2002 assembly elections from Kathua assembly segment and joined Congress later. He is presently the found of a new paryt named NMFGM (Nature Mankind Friendly Global Movement). (KNS)
