JRL calls for two day shutdown against NIA raids, mass arrests

Srinagar Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) comprising of Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Mirwaiz Muhammad Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik have called for a two day complete protest strike against raids of NIA against resistance leadership and mass arrests.

In a statement issued to KNO, JRL said “wide spread raids of NIA against almost whole resistance leadership, extensive spree of arrests in nooks and corners of Kashmir valley during which thousands have been put behind Bars and threats to tinker with state subject law (35a) the hearing of which is scheduled tomorrow in Supreme Court are all acts aimed at suppressing our voices of Kashmiris by military and police might.”

“Kashmiris cannot watch all this silently and mutely,” they said, adding that two day complete protest strike will be observed on Wednesday 27th February and Thursday 28th February 2019 against what they termed as ‘colonial acts of rulers aimed against the nation of Jammu Kashmir’.(KNO)
