Make mosques the centers of resistance movement: Shah

Srinagar: The incarcerated chairman of Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) Shabir Ahmad Shah today appealed the international community not to wait for further tragedy in Jammu Kashmir and play role in this regard on humanitarian grounds.

In a statement issued to PTK, Shah castigated the state puppet administration over the atrocities unleashed upon people at Khanabal where police personnel Tauseef Ahmad Mir and others fired pellets on women’s private parts. “This is the worst kind of state-sponsored terrorism,” he said.

The DFP chairman rejected the claims of so-called administration that it is people-friendly saying that to include these people among humans is insult to humanity. “How can such people be regarded as humans who massacre their own people, attack the injured persons and ambulances, and unleash a reign of terror among masses,” he said.

Terming the state rulers as killers, Shah said they have converted the State into a slaughter house. “These people must remember that they will be held accountable for their crimes very soon,” he said.

He strongly condemned the use of brute force against the people across the Valley on Friday and expressed grief over the martyrdom of youth in Sopore, Chadoora, and Beerwah.

Saluting the steadfastness of the people of Jammu Kashmir, Shah appealed the employees to walk shoulder-to-shoulder with trade bodies, labourers, students, medicos, volunteers, and youths in taking the freedom movement to its logical conclusion.

“People must not get disappointed. The pro-freedom parties must break the organisational barriers and work for the cause in a unified manner. We salute those rendering selfless services in hospitals and are indebted to them,” Shah said.

Shah reiterated his appeal to people of making mosques the centers of movement, utilising the Bait-ul-Maal committees, and following the protest calendar in letter and spirit. (PTK)
