Srinagar: The bypass road near JVC Hospital Bemina Srinagar has become a death trap for the people mostly for the visitors in the hospital. The absence of any flying bridge there on the pattern of one constructed for the female students of Government College for Women in Srinagar has made the open road prone to the mishaps and road accidents.
On Friday a religious preacher Moulvi Fayaz Ahmad Shah of Quilmaqam Bandipora died on spot when he was badly hit by a speedy vehicle outside JVC Hospital.
“Sometime ago a cop from Tangmarg area lost his life at the same spot when he was crossing the byepass to enter into the hospital. It was another worst accident on the same bypass, which has consumed many lives in the past,” an attendant Irfan Ahmed told CNS adding that the erring drivers easily manage to flee from the spot due to absence of any flying squad or any hindrances.
The attendants soon after the road accident demanded that government should at least construct a crossing flying bridge for the hospital visitors as it has constructed outside Women’s College. “When will the government get serious towards the welfare of this ignored City When will it take measures to construct the flying crossing bridge here,” they said.
