Medium intensity quake hits JK, Pak

Srinagar : A medium intensity earthquake measuring 5.2 on Richter scale hit the state of Jammu & Kashmir along India-Pakistan border on today afternoon. As per initial reports, tremors were also felt in Pakistan’s capital Islamabad.

According to reports, the earthquake struck 117 km east of the Swat Valley city of Mingaora, at a depth of 43.4 km, the US Geological Survey said.

Some reports say that cities of Muzaffarabad, Peshawar, Gilgit and Chilas also suffered minor shakings. No casualty or loss of property has been reported so far. (PTK)
