Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir government on Friday decided to close all educational institutions in Kashmir region and Jammu’s winter zone on account of summer vacations from July 2 to July 14.
The Minister for Education Chowdary Zulifkar Ali said that the government has decided to go for summer break due to rising temperatures.
“All educational institutions in both Winter and Summer Zones will remain closed from July to July 14 next month,” the Minister said.
This is the first time, when any government in Jammu and Kashmir has declared such vacations a month before. “The announcement is ironical. Some people on social media have described this Summer break as Burhan break,” said a trader.
Pertinently, the 2nd death anniversary of Hizb poser boy Burhan Wani will fall on July 6 next month. Last year also Government had announced Summer break prior to his anniversary day. (CNS)
