NC, PC workers clash in Dangerpora Sonawari

Sonawari: National Conference and People’s Conference (PC) workers on Tuesday clashed in Dangerpora Sonawari area of Bandipora district in northern Kashmir.

Eyewitnesses told KNO that the incident took place in Dangerpora which is Shia belt area of Sonawari Assembly segment of Bandipora district, when NC cavalcade was on the Way to Naidkhai area to attend Party Convention.

Eyewitnesses at the spot added that some persons, including women, of the rival parties engaging in verbal and physical fight, when party cavalcade led by Party’s candidate Mohd Akbar Lone was heading to the Naidkhai Area where Party’s Vice President Omar Abdullah and Akbar lone was scheduled to address a gathering.

Speaking to KNO, PC workers alleged that “When NC workers were heading to the Naidkhai area, they hurled choicest abuses, used unparliamentary language, when we confronted them, the NC goons attacked us. We also gave them a befitting reply, they added. Eyewitnesses added that PC Activists hurled stones and Broke window panes of over dozen Vehicles of NC cavalcade, however no one was injured.”

Later, both the parties blamed each other for the incident. Pertinently, Baramulla parliamentary constituency is going to polls in the First phase of elections on 11th April.

Today was the last date for election campaign for the first phase of LS polls. When contacted Mohammad Akbar Lone, he refuted the reports, termed it ‘baseless and concocted’, saying no such incident occurred in Dangerpora area.(KNO)
