Rape of three year old girl triggers protests in valley

Srinagar: Protest demonstrations were held in many parts of Kashmir valley demanding strong punishment to the culprit involved in rape of a three year old girl in Bandipora district.

As per reports reaching PTK, scores of youth assembled in Press Colony and started sloganeering against the accused and demanded strong action against him. The youth were seen holding placards and posters in their hands carrying demands and messages like “Hang the rapist Tahir” , “We want justice”.

Students of Kashmir University also held a protest demonstration inside the Main Campus. As per report, scores of students protested against rape of a three year old girl and demanded punishment of death to accused. The protestors shouted slogans against the accused and demanded strong against the culprit. The students were seen holding posters in their hands that carried demands and messages like “Stop rape now”, “Hang the rapist”, “Girls are not born for rape”.

Student of GDC Sumbal also took a protests March and demanded justice of the minor victim. The students said that they will hit streets if the culprit will not be hanged.

It’s pertinent to mention here that a three year old girl was raped by a 20 year old boy in Malikpora, Tregam area of Sumbal, Bandipora. Police few days ago claimed to have arrested the accused. (PTK)
