Passing of resolution a big blow to India: Hurriyat (G)
Welcoming the move, Hurriyat Conference (G) said since 1981 Pakistan has been wholeheartedly trying for this resolution and its efforts have come true after a long pause.
The conglomerate in a statement issued here said, “We as a nation are being churned in all types of machinations by the occupier and our woes are unheard even at the highest houses and all our peaceful and democratic means have been curtailed by India which shamelessly refuses and denies to fulfill the promises of its own legends and political stalwarts just to keep us enslaved.”
Hailing the “sincere and concrete” efforts by Pakistan to get the resolution accepted, the conglomerate said if all the “freedom loving” institutions and world forums uphold and support the people’s basic rights, all the wounds inflicted by the occupier will be soothed and peace and prosperity will prevail all around.
“The long struggle spread over seven decades and the endless sacrifices rendered during the last five months has been highlighted and glorified by Pakistan internationally for which we admire and thank them from the core of our heart. The support and affirmation to our basic right by more than 72 countries is the global reiteration that our right is a marvelous achievement of the present uprising,” it said.
The amalgam said the “overwhelming support” by 193-member Assembly’s Third Committee which deals with social, humanitarian and cultural issues is an ample proof that there still persist human values and every country is not furious in flames of communal hatred and arrogance of its might.
“India should shun arrogance, face the realities and read the writing on the wall. Acceptance of the resolution is a crude blow to its imperialistic mindset. Sooner India adopts a realistic and justified approach, South Asia particularly the Indian subcontinent will have a sigh of relief and peace and tranquility will prevail everywhere. No movement for the people’s right has ever failed and every struggle has enabled its people to emerge from the yolk of colonial and alien occupation to live a dignified an honored life,” the amalgam added.

Shah observed, “We’re a peace-loving nation and are struggling for our birth right of self-determination through peaceful means but India and its local collaborators are using every brute method to crush our genuine and just voice. In the ongoing uprising, the so-called champions of ‘vision’ snatched vision of hundreds of our children and put to death more than hundred people mostly youths.”
