Rs.51 Lac burglary case in Gulmarg Gandola solved, cash of 39 Lac recovered, five arrested

Srinagar: In a remarkable time frame J&K police on Tuesday claimed that it cracked the Gulmarg Gandola burglary case. The police said that it has arrested five people in this connection, including the mastermind Abdul Ahad Ganai an employee of Jammu and Kashmir State Cable Car Corporation.

A official said that five persons have been arrested and an amount of Rs 39 lacs stolen money has been recovered from them. Among the arrested include an employee of Jammu and Kashmir Cable Car Corporation.

Pertinently on the intervening night of 23 rd and 24th June burglars barged at the cash counter of Gulmarg Gandola and they stole Rs 51 lacs cash from the counter.

Subsequently, a complaint was lodged with police following which an FIR under No: 05 of 2019 under section 457,380 RPC was lodged in Police Station Gulmarg .

According to police, immediately after the registration of FIR, an investigating team was constituted by the police and probe commenced.

The said team solved the case within a week’s record period and arrested the culprits and also recovered the Rs 39 lac from their possession, the official said.

The arrested persons in connection of the burglary have been identified as Abdul Ahad Ganai, who is an employee of the corporation along with his four accomplices namely, Abdul Majid Lone, Imtiyaz Ahmed Bhat, Manzoor Ahmed Sheikh and Bashir Ahmed Shah.(CNS)
