Seven dead in Bandipora road accident

Bandipora: At least seven persons died after a Beacon vehicle carrying labourers met with an accident in Tragbal area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Friday.

The vehicle was on its way to Bandipora from Gurez when the accident took place.

A police official said that over a dozen persons were travelling on the ill-fated vehicle. He said seven persons died while nine others have suffered injuries, adding that all the injured have been shifted to a hospital in Srinagar for treatment. The driver of the vehicle, also feared dead, is still missing, he said.

The deceased have been identified as Madhu Harman, Jasu Harman, Sibu Muran, Pagan Muran, Chanu Harman(matt), Kisum Marmo s/o Prabhat Marmo- all residents of Jharkhand – and Manzoor Ahmad Palal (35), son of Muhammad Rafiq Khan, resident of Tanghat Bandipora.
