Top Jaish commander among five militants killed in Pulwama, Budgam gunfights

Srinagar: Top Jaish commander Zahid Wani is among five militants of Jaish-e-Mohammad and Lashker-e-Toiba who were killed in overnight gunfights in Pulwama and Budgam, police said on Sunday.

Officials told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that four Jaish-e-Mohammad militants including a top commander Zahid Wani of Kareemabad Pulwama and a foreigner were killed in Naira Pulwama while a militant affiliated with Lashker-e-Toiba was killed in Charar-e-Shareef area of Budgam.

Inspector General Of police Vijay Kumar said that five militants of Jaish-e-Mohammad and Lashker-e-Toiba were killed two encounters in last 12 hours in Kashmir.

He said that Jaish-e-Mohammad commander Zahid Wani and a foreigner is among slain which is big success for us.

“05 militants of Pakistan sponsored proscribed militant outfits LeT & JeM killed in dual in ncounters in last 12 hours. JeM commander militant ahid Wani & a Pakistani militant among the killed. Big #success for us: IGP Kashmir.”Kashmir police zone tweeted.

Notably, an encounter broke out in Naira Pulwama on Saturday evening while as encounter broke out in Charar-e-Shareef area of Budgam late Saturday night—(KNO)
