Srinagar: Breaking lull, Sopore Town on Monday was rattled with twin grenade attacks aimed at Police but there were no casualties.
Official sources told news agency GNS that at around 4:50 pm unknown persons hurled a hand grenade towards a gypsy of SDPO which exploded with a bang.
However, no one was injured in the attack. Soon after the attack, the police and paramilitary CRPF reached the spot and launched searches to nab the attackers.
Hours after the grenade attack on police vehicle in Amargadh, another grenade was hurled at Model town neighbourhood in Sopore. Sources said that unknown persons lobbed a hand grenade on SOG party at Model Town in Sopore.
However, there were no immediate reports of any injury. Last week, two militants were killed in a fierce firefight at Bomai hamlet of Sopore. (GNS)
