Both the regions have many similarities and the occupational forces in these regions are unleashing worst kind of atrocities upon the local people there. Killings, raps, extrajudicial killings, forced custodial disappearances, destruction of public property by the forces is a routine in these regions. The pro-freedom leaders said that they are preparing a resolution in this regard which will be passed by the people in all major Friday congregational prayer meetings on Jumat-ul-Wida.
While demanding strict and complete ban over the sale and purchase of liquor in the state, Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Mohammad Yasin Malik in a joint statement said that if this prohibited substance can be banned in Bihar and Kerala like states of India then why can’t in Muslim majority state like Jammu & Kashmir and how could be its sale justified here.
