Youth killed in fresh firing by forces in north Kashmir

Srinagar: A fourteen year old boy was killed and three others injured when government forces opened fire at Ladoora village of Rafiabad in Sopore area of north Kashmir’s Barmulla district on Wednesday.

Official sources told news agency GNS that the joint team of patrolling party of BSF and army opened fire on a group of protesters, injuring four persons at Ladoora village.

The injured were shifted to district hospital Baramulla where Danish Manzoor (14) succumbed to injuries and the other three injured are being treated.

Medical Superintendent Baramulla hospital, Dr Massood confirmed the death of Danish Manzoor while the injured have been referred to Srinagar for specialized treatment.

A police officer told GNS that the security forces came under heavy stone pelting as a result of which they opened fire, leading to the death of the boy and injuries to three other persons.

With the killing the toll has risen to 71.
