Pitroda’s ‘huwa tou huwa’ comment has hurt sentiments of Sikhs across country: Altaf Thakur

Asks JK unit of Congress to tender public apology

Srinagar: Bhartiya Janata Party state spokesman Altaf Thakur lashed out at the Congress and its leader Sam Pitroda for his comments on the 1984 anti-Sikh riots, who stated “huwa tou huwa.”

Thakur said that Pitroda who is the political guru of Congress President Rahul Gandhi, has exposed the real character of the party and that entire Congress camp and its JK chapter must tender a public apology for the derogatory comments.

In a statement, Thakur said Pitroda’s comment shows the “real character and myopic vision” of the Congress.

“These words show Congress character and mentality. The three words (hua toh hua) are a display of their arrogance. This leader is close to the Gandhi family and a friend of Rajiv Gandhi. He is the guru of the Congress president and whatever he has said reflects the vision and thinking of Congress camp,” Altaf Thakur said said in a statement here on Friday.

Thakur asked the Sikh leaders of Congress unit in JK to apologise as Pitroda’s statement has hurt sentiments of Sikhs across the country.
