Srinagar: PDP leader Engineer Nazir Yatoo while condemning sealing of Dukhtaran e Millat Chief Asiya Andrabi’s house has demanded that Home Minister must immediately revoke the order as the action is an open violation of basic human rights of Kashmiri people. Yatoo has also demanded that family of Sarjan Barkati should be ensured safety and security in view of the physical attack on Barkati’s wife. He appealed newly appointed Chairperson of J&K Sate Women’s Commission (SWC) to come to rescue of Shabroza Barkati.
In a statement Engineer Nazir Yatoo said that action by National Investigation Agency (NIA) to seal the residence of Asiya Andrabi in upper Soura area of Srinagar is a condemnable act and every conscious citizen must raise their voice against it.
“Sealing the house under Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act is not justified especially at a time when Asiya Andrabi and her husband are both lodged in jail. I appeal Home Minister Amit Shah to revoke the order,” said Yatoo
In the attachment order the NIA directed all the concerned not to transfer, sale or otherwise deal with the said property in any manner, whatsoever, except with prior permission. The order stresses that all concerned should refrain from transfer and the sale of said property.
Yatoo also appealed Govt to identify the attackers who tried to strangulate Shabroza Barkati wife of jailed Sarjan Barkati few days back.
“PDP demands that Shabroza be given adequate security. We appeal newly appointed Chairperson State Women’s Commission Vasundhra Masoodi to take a cognizance of this attack,” Yatoo added.
